5. Viruses

Whilst we try to keep our anti-virus software up-to-date we do not warrant that the IS Know How website, its servers, downloadable files or e-mails which may be sent by us, are free from viruses or other harmful components.

This section of the Terms & Conditions applies to any use of our Members Only Collaboration Platform facilities ("Facilities") including 'Community Sentinel Collaboration Platform' and 'Guest Blogging Contributor'. For the avoidance of doubt all of the other provisions of the Terms & Conditions shall also apply to your use of the Facilities.  Naturally, we are obliged to monitor the contents of any submitted content, sent using the "Facilities" and we assume no liability arising from the content of any such submitted user content. 

      You undertake:

  • to accept full responsibility for the contents of any user submitted content;
  • to use the Facilities only for lawful purposes;
  • not to send inaccurate, defamatory, abusive, offensive, pornographic, racist, sexist, threatening, vulgar, obscene, hateful or otherwise inappropriate material or material which will constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability or which may cause offence in relation to sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability or working status in any Messages;
  • not to harass or upset third parties through your use of the Facilities;
  • not to include in any user submitted content, any material which refers to a third party or is protected by confidentiality, copyright, trademark or other propriety right without the express permission of the third party owner;
  • not to impersonate any person or to assume a false identity;
  • not to submit any end user content, if any persons is under the age of 18;
  • not to send personal information about yourself or any third party using the Facilities;
  • not to insert material into the Facilities which contains viruses, files or programs that are designed to disrupt, damage or limit the functioning of any software or hardware equipment;
  • not to use the Facilities for any commercial purpose or to send advertisements, chain letters, surveys, pyramid schemes or requests for money; and
  • not to use the Facilities in order to obtain unauthorised access to data or other information of ours or any third party.

We will cooperate with any person, law enforcement authority or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone sending material using the Facilities in breach of the Terms & Conditions, any law (whether civil or criminal) or the legal rights of any party.

7. Becoming a Member of IS Know How

If you apply to become a member of IS Know How through this website by phone or post, you are bound by these Terms of use. Membership of IS Know How involves agreeing to other terms. You will be advised about these within the relevant areas that they apply.

8. Registering on our Website

If you register with our website you will be asked to 'Pre-Register' your account. As we have built in a process of qualifying your 'Registered Charity, Social Enterprise or Not-for-Profit' details given at the time of your registration, your account won't be instantly activated. We will next take the information provided by you during your pre-registration and this will then be cross referenced by IS Know How, against the organisation details that are held by the legal form regulator to that of your Third Sector Organisation.

Unless we say otherwise in writing, you must be an agreed authority within your third sector organisation to register with our website.

When you register we’ll ask you to create a user name and password. You agree to keep this password confidential and not disclose it to any third party. If you know or suspect that a third party may know your password you agree to contact us immediately so that we may change it. You agree not to use any other user’s user name and password to access our website.

You’ll be bound by these Terms of use as are all users of our website. We may choose not to accept your registration or cancel your registration at any time as we deem necessary.

By registering with our website you may see or use additional content that would not otherwise be available. We may impose more terms before granting such rights and may change those terms at any time.

9. Provision of Services

These Terms & Conditions do not deal with the terms upon which we will provide any service advertised on the IS Know How website.  We will tell you the terms upon which a service will be provided at the time you ask us to provide it.  If the service is to be provided by a third party, the third party’s terms will apply to that service and be clearly noted to end users.

10. Liability
